Designing receptacles (or "reports")
for generated data was the challenge presented by the magazine,
the "report", and the book chapter above. One used downloaded stock
market data, another used numbers and text strings from Access,
another (text and numbers) came from Word tables. Only the last
of these was not totally automated.
Illustration not in the original
spec for this manual, for which we created the content. However, this is the page the Help people
left their books open to.
Some writing exercises benefit from other arts. The overall structure of the multi-server unix application was best
"explained" in a diagram.
